MANAGING 200 GEOTECHNICAL PROJECTS FOR THE PORT AUTHORITY
Langan has been assisting the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to manage geotechnical data at 20 Port Authority facilities that include 3 international airports, 8 bridges and tunnels, 25 ferry routes, 4 NY - NJ trains and 2 airport connector train corridors. To date, we have been involved in over 200 projects for the authority.
Our geographic information system (GIS) and database management experts use state-of-the-art computer equipment and software applications. We also train authority employees on how to use the software, which includes ESRI’s latest GIS software applications, such as ArcView, ArcGIS, and ArcIMS. Langan also uses AutoCad and EarthSoft’s EQuIS database management software packages to provide the Port Authority with easy access to the critical information employees need to evaluate and manage projects.
Langan maintains not only geotechnical data for the Port Authority but also an extensive computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) spatial database, which can be migrated into a fully integrated GIS system. We also provide on-site data management services for this project.
