Cushetunk Lake
Cushetunk Lake is a Planned Residential Development on a 220-acre wooded site adjacent to a 40-acre lake. Langan was retained to provide all site engineering services for the development of 250 single family lots, 182 town homes, 84 low and moderate income condominiums and apartments, 60 senior housing units, a community recreation area, and a public park. The project required comprehensive hydrologic and hydraulic studies to maintain the water quality of the lake. The existing dam on the lake needed rehabilitation to provide the required stormwater quantity management and increase the safety of the structure. The unique topography of the site necessitated an extensive stormwater quality management system to maintain the existing wetland and aquatic habitats. The traffic study assessed local and regional traffic systems with close coordination between NJDOT and Hunterdon County’s long term planning goals. Langan served as the lead designer to coordinate the team of specialists including wetland, water quality, landscape architecture, and planning consultants.
