Engineer – Geologic or Environmental – 1 to 3 Years Experience

Employment type: Full-time

Langan has an opening for a local staff level Environmental Engineer or Soils / Geologic Engineer with 1 to 3 years of experience in our Irvine, CA office. Current workload consists of geotechnical and environmental projects. Experience and willingness to work in either or both of these disciplines is preferred.

As the successful candidate, you will have an enthusiastic, can-do attitude with strong interest in performing: field construction oversight, environmental site characterization activities, assisting with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, plans, designs, data management and interpretation. In addition, possession of a strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn is essential.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor degree (Master preferred) in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, Geology or Environmental Engineering;
• FE/EIT certification;
• A minimum of 1-3 years of related environmental and/or geotechnical experience in California;
• Knowledge and understanding of local and state regulations;
• Experience performing field inspections and providing construction oversight;
• Willingness to spend 75 percent of time working in the field; 
• Experience in preparing project specifications and reports;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities;
• Proficient computer skills and utilization of design software;
• Excellent communication and organization skills; and,
• Availability to work overtime and travel to projects throughout Southwest US region.
