Geotechnical Engineer – Entry Level to One Year Experience

Job Description:

Langan has an opening for a Geotechnical Engineer with entry level to one year of experience at our Elmwood Park, NJ office. As a successful candidate, you will be working on both small-scale and large-scale projects primarily in the heavy civil and utility markets. You will assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, plans, designing foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical aspects of construction. Possession of a strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn is essential to this position.

Requirements:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering; 
• FE/EIT certification preferred;
• Excellent communication skills; 
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
• Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work in a team environment;
• Must be able to perform field inspections of geotechnical and foundation projects; 
• Field experience with construction monitoring is preferred, but not required; 
• Must be willing to spend 75 percent of their time working in the field; 
• Possess a valid driver’s license; and,
• Ability to work overtime.
