Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL) retained Langan to review the facility’s Comprehensive Spill Response Plan. This ensured compliance with the revised regulations, a single contingency plan that satisfies the federal Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures and Facility Response Plan, as well as the Pennsylvania State Preparedness, Prevention and Contingency and Spill Prevention and Response planning requirements.

Verizon Pennsylvania operates emergency diesel generators in each of the Central Offices throughout Pennsylvania in order to maintain service in the event of a power interruption. Langan was retained by Verizon to investigate permitting requirements for these generators, which ranged in size from 6kW to 2250kW. Requests for Determinations (RFD) for exemptions from Plan Approval and Operating Permit requirements were submitted for each generator, over 350 total.

Langan is developing and implementing an environmental auditing program for member schools throughout the state. This program consists of community college employees being trained as peer auditors to conduct environmental regulatory audits and become familiar with the compliance requirements on campus.
