Langan served as the general contractor on this soil remediation job adjacent to the south approach to the Golden Gate Bridge. The project, associated with the Bridge’s 75th Anniversary, consisted of site grading, trail improvements, and construction of a new plaza. The contaminants in soil were predominantly lead due to uncontained lead-based paint that had been sand-blasted off the bridge during numerous cleanings and re-paintings over the last 75 years. We oversaw the profiling, excavation, transporting, and disposing of the contaminated soil to a regulated landfill, ensuring adherence to best practices and stormwater protection plan measures, and we completed the closure report.
