Langan was a key component of the design-build team for the new U.S. Embassy in Panama. This fast-track, LEED Certified project posed numerous challenges for all design and engineering disciplines due to site conditions, security requirements, and time constraints.

Langan is the prime consultant for the City of New Haven’s state and federally funded Boathouse at Canal Dock and Long Wharf Park projects. Projects will include the construction of a 3+ acre pile-supported platform, a 30,000-square-foot Community Boathouse, the stabilization and reconstruction of over 1,500 linear feet of shoreline, and the revitalization of Long Wharf Park. Langan is responsible for a design team consisting of an architect, planner, cost estimating/scheduler, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers. Langan has obtained the required approvals from CTDEP and US Army Corps of Engineers for construction of a 3+ acre, pile-support platform over coastal waters to support this project.

As part of the design-build team for this seven-story federal courthouse, Langan performed a geotechnical investigation of the sub-surface conditions at the site. Our geotechnical report led to technically feasible and cost-effective foundations and floor slab altenatives.

As part of the Gateway National Recreational Area's on-call team, Langan provided engineering and environmental services for site development improvements at Great Kills. Langan prepared all construction documents for the demolition of an 80,000-square-foot pile-supported bathhouse, 2,000-square-foot beach center, and one half mile of sewer.

A full exterior laser scan of the building facades was performed, as well as a control survey for the accurate merge of the laser scan "point clouds." Detailed elevations and cross sections of the building were produced from the scan data for the planning and implementation of a new lighting scheme for the building.

The GIWW West Closure Complex is a primary flood protection component of the Army Corps of Engineer’s mission to protect the City of New Orleans and the largest pump station in the US. Langan spearheaded a full-depth pilot test and computer modeling program to evaluate the potential for base heave of the deep excavations, dewatering techniques, and overall constructability. Langan also provided geotechnical services, road subgrade stabilization, dewatering, spud piles, and access road construction.

Langan provided a full suite of professional engineering services including geotechnical and civil engineering design and consultation services. Langan experts assisted the project team in developing an environmentally sensitive and sustainable project. Site challenges involved avoiding deep and old sewers of lower Manhattan, and the potential for disturbance of interred remains.

This Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract includes the preparation of plans and specifications, cost estimates, related studies, and all associated engineering services primarily for the Coast Guard District One - which includes Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and northern New Jersey. Langan, a member of the awarded AE team, will be providing civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering as well as survey services for the IDIQ contract.

Treadwell & Rollo, a Langan Company, managed a geotechnical investigation for new medical facilities for the VAPAHCS, including a new three-story Polytrauma Building and five-story Ambulatory Care Facility. Additional facilities included a new vivarium building, CUP building, water tank, new utilities, and roadways.

Langan is providing design-build engineering services for demolition of the old headquarters building at Andrews Air Force Base. The project primarily includes hazardous material abatement and demolition of the 350,000-square-foot headquarters building and 7,000-square-foot boiler building. After the demolition phase is completed, the project sites will be converted into landscaped parks.
