Langan designed and permitted a new interchange at the Main Street crossing of State Route 33, a limited access highway, along the S.R. 33 corridor between Interstate 78 in the Lehigh Valley and Interstate 80 in the Poconos Region. The design consists of a “full diamond interchange” with one-way diagonal ramps in each of the four quadrants connecting S.R. 33 with Main Street forming at-grade signalized intersections. Additional widening to Main Street was required, along with two additional signals, multiple intersection improvements, and accommodations for pedestrian and bicycle access. Langan provided site/civil, traffic and transportation, surveying, geotechnical, and natural resource services.
