To date, the Diplomat project is the largest private project ever constructed in Florida. It consists of 40-story twin hotel towers, an eight-story convention center, a retail village, multi-level parking garage, mechanical plant, and a pedestrian bridge, which connects the two properties over Collins Avenue.

Santa Maria Golf & Country Club is a high-end, 700-acre mixed-use development located along the Corredur Sur. It includes retail and restaurant space, residences, and a Jack Nicklaus golf course. Langan provided complete site/civil and traffic design for the on-site roads, drainage, and utility infrastructure from the conceptual phase through construction documents. One of the greatest site-specific challenges was the design of over 30 acres of on-site, man-made lakes to act as stormwater management and high-quality site amenities, which will be constructed in fill materials. Langan’s geotechnical engineers evaluated and recommended innovative ground improvement measures to counter the over one meter of settlement anticipated to occur from the 4-5 meters of imported design fill on top of the existing compressible clay.

Langan completed a Phase I/Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), which identified chlorinated solvents in the soil and ground water as a result of discharges from a former dry-cleaning operation in the basement of the hotel. Langan also completed comprehensive asbestos surveys and monitored the abatement. In addition, Langan performed geotechnical engineering studies and comprehensive and innovative pile load testing programs, and inspected the installation of the piles.

Langan is providing geotechnical and site civil engineering services for the expansion of the Cayuga Indian Nation Catskills Casino located in Monticello, New York. The phased project includes a new 600,000 sq ft casino and multi-level parking garage. Langan is evaluating the existing infrastructure system and will be providing site civil engineering design for the site sewers, water, electric and communications systems from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration. Additionally, Langan is preparing and expediting the NYSDEC permits associated with the expansion project.

Langan provided full civil engineering and permitting services for the renovation of the landmark Architects Building, in the Center City West Historic District, into a four-star LEED Gold certified Kimpton Hotel. Langan performed a detailed topographic survey of the property to aid in maintaining and creating efficient access into the building from street. Existing site features were preserved to maintain the character of the surrounding area.

The Four Seasons Hotel & Tower is a 34-story, 750,000 square foot mixed-use development bordering Yerba Buena Gardens. Treadwell & Rollo, A Langan Company, performed environmental and geotechnical engineering services for the development including conducting pump tests for aquifer characterization.
