Home to the New York Giants and Jets, MetLife Stadium is an 82,000-seat, open-air stadium constructed within the Meadowlands Sports Complex.

The Atlantic Yards project consists of the redevelopment of six city blocks in the Prospect Heights section of Brooklyn, NY and includes the Barclays Center, an entertainment center and new home arena of the Brooklyn Nets. Langan served as the geotechnical engineer for the arena and high-rise structures at the Vanderbilt Yard. In addition, Langan's site-specific seismic study resulted in a favorable seismic designation, thus avoiding unnecessary seismic detailing and connections, and more importantly, foundation ties – which saved millions of dollars.

Once part of the San Francisco Bay, the site for AT&T Park was reclaimed by a series of fills that occurred between 1860 and the 1920s. Treadwell & Rollo, a Langan Company, developed earthquake design criteria, participated in the development of the environmental impact report and assisted with the structural evaluation of the bulkhead retaining structure.

Langan is the geotechnical engineer for the original 73,000-seat Sun Life Stadium, as well as the subsequent two additions to the stadium. The original is supported on shallow footings after preloading the site to pre-compress the loose sands. The more recent additions are supported on both footings and augercast piles.

The stadium expansion will include 11,000 seats in the south end zone area. In addition, approximately 1,000 seats were added at the north end zone and several luxury boxes and club seats within the eastern and western portion.

Treadwell & Rollo, a Langan Company, is providing geotechnical and environmental services for the San Jose Earthquakes Stadium project, which broke ground in April of 2013. The proposed development consists of a 15,000-seat sports stadium, team facilities, and associated structures. Geotechnical design challenges included designing the proposed stadium structure to accommodate the total and differential settlements expected after an earthquake and working around the ongoing groundwater monitoring, extraction, and treatment system on site.

Commissioned by the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sport, the 30,000-seat Al Najaf sports complex is being constructed under a design-build contract. The total site area for this project is approximately 150,000 square meters (37 acres), including the stadium, training fields, roads, plazas, and parking.

Commissioned by the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sport, the 30,000-seat soccer stadium, training fields, roads, plazas and parking are being constructed under a design-build contract. The wave and sail concept for the Al-Menaa stadium reflects the culture and heritage of Basrah, which has a rich nautical tradition as Iraq’s port city. The total site area is about 100,000 square meters (24 acres).

A geotechnical investigation was completed for the master plan development at Bay Meadows Race Track, encompassing the existing horse race track, barns, and parking lots. The proposed development consists of new residential, mixed-use, and office buildings; a community park; dry storage pond; underground utilities; and roadways and parking lots.

A former ship docking facility is the site for the home of the Miami Heat. This 19,000-seat, state-of-the-art arena overlooks Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami. Langan provided subsurface investigations to identify the conditions of the site and based upon this information new foundation recommendations were developed.

The River Sharks Baseball Stadium is a minor league baseball facility with a seating capacity of 6,486 along the Camden Waterfront. Langan's integrated disciplines helped ensure that the design of this fast-track project was completed within the compressed schedule, in addition to providing a level of detail necessary so that the project could be constructed immediately upon completion of the design.

Langan’s experienced team of stadium traffic and parking engineers were asked to develop a revised Standard Operations Plan for gameday observations, and to prepare a revised Transportation Master Plan for development along the North Shore in Pittsburgh. The goal of the study was to improve gameday operations following peak Heinz Field events, and determine roadway and parking needs to support project development along the North Shore.

The New York Jets state-of-the-art professional football training facility extends over 27-acres of former Exxon Mobil Research Facility grounds. This modern training facility is centered around a field house with an indoor playing field and another building with weight training facilities, classrooms and administrative offices. Langan provided full site services for the layout, grading and drainage of associated parking areas, interior roadways and walks, and four adjacent outdoor football fields, including one artificial turf field.

Langan was commissioned by the City of Philadelphia to study traffic and parking operations at the Sports and Entertainment Complex, which consists of two stadiums, two arenas, and 20,000 parking spaces, all within the street grid of a South Philadelphia neighborhood. The goal of the study is to improve operations following the opening of the new Citizens Bank Park and Lincoln Financial Field, and to provide recommendations to improve the fan ingress and egress experience.

The Timex Performance Center incorporates the character of the proposed New Meadowlands Stadium and the natural landscape of the Hackensack meadows. To achieve the design goals Langan provided integrated geotechnical, civil and environmental engineering, as well as landscape architectural services.
