Langan’s London Team Leverages Local and Global Experience
Two Johns, one Paul, a George, but no Ringo (not yet that is).
This “Beatle-sounding” group forms the core of Langan’s London office, which is making impressive strides in the UK and among other points around Europe and the Middle East.
They are Can (pronounced “John”) Karayel, John Stevens, Paul Gildea, and George Leventis, and their combined citizenship – Turkish, English, Irish, Greek – is as varied as the complex projects they have completed around the world. Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, South Africa, Egypt, Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, Australia, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Turkey, Ghana, Greece, Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom … these geotechnical, site/civil, and environmental engineers have seen it all.
Of course, international work is nothing new to Langan, but dedicating resources in London is, and that investment is paying off. In fact, locating in global cities here and abroad is a strategic initiative for the firm. But a plan without the right people to execute it, is just a plan. Karayel leads site/civil, Gildea is the geotechnical point, and Stevens brings critical environmental consulting experience to the team. George Leventis directs the international practice from New York.
“Being in London enables Langan to connect with our many design team partners who are also located in the city,” said Karayel. “With the addition of John Stevens, we are seeing more opportunities locally, and also in the oil and gas space in multiple geographies.”
