Langan has an opening for an entry level Environmental Scientist within the Natural Resources group in our Parsippany, NJ office.  As the successful candidate, you will be performing GIS-based assessments of project sites and assisting Project Managers in assessments of sites including vegetative and wildlife inventories and ecological evaluation, and other similar field tasks.  Additional duties include regulatory/scientific research, assisting in the preparation of state and federal regulatory permit applications, and preparation of Environmental Impact Statements.


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Botany, or related discipline required;
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required;
  • Ideally will possess relevant internship or work experience;
  • Understanding and application of GIS software and regulatory permitting processes;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work in a team environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD;
  • Willingness and ability to work in the field up to 20% of the time;
  • Reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing;
  • Position requires work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends; and,
  • Local candidates preferred.
