Langan has an opening for a Traffic Engineer in our Fort Lauderdale, FL office with 1 to 3 years of related experience.  As the successful candidate, you will have experience in preparing traffic studies and working on MOT design and traffic signal design projects. This is a unique opportunity to work on both traffic engineering analysis/study and roadway/traffic signal design. The successful candidate will assist with preparing technical reports, design plans, and specifications. Possession of a strong technical education, professional demeanor, and a desire to learn and grow is essential.


Job Requirements:


  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with Traffic Engineering focus preferred;
  • FE/EIT certification is preferred;
  • Ability to perform all aspects of traffic engineering such as traffic impact studies, traffic operations analysis, corridor studies, MOT plans and traffic signal warrant analysis;
  • Proficiency in HCS, SYNCHRO and the MUTCD is highly desirable;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD; MicroStation and/or SoftDesk civil software and traffic signal design are a plus;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Possess reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing; and
  • Position requires work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
