Langan is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in providing day to day accounting services including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, bank reconciliations, assistance with compiling operational financial reports, and daily accounts receivable management.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare assigned monthly account analyses;
  • Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations;
  • Assist with processing all appropriate journal entries;
  • Support the monthly and quarterly closes and financial reporting;
  • Assist with the preparation of various financial reports to include the compilation of annual budgets and projections of the balance sheet and income statement;
  • Participate in completing requests to support the annual financial audit, overhead audit, and other external audits as they are scheduled;
  • Prepare various schedules to support quarterly contribution reporting to shareholders;
  • Provide support to Accounting department staff; and,
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
  • Understanding of accounting procedures and general knowledge of monthly accounting close procedures, account and bank reconciliations;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Superior interpersonal skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Sound judgment capability and ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Ability to multi-task; and,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Internet research; and knowledge of Deltek Vision software preferred.
