Langan has an opening for a Geotechnical Project Engineer in our Parsippany office. This individual will serve a key function working on both small-scale and large-scale projects primarily in residential, office, retail/warehouse markets and will perform other geotechnical aspects of construction. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with top industry leadership in a continuous learning environment.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Preparation of technical reports, specifications, construction plans, and geotechnical recommendations; 

  • Preparation of proposals, coordinating projects, managing clients and managing billings;

  • Review the work of staff and mentoring staff;

  • Support of excavation designs and Plaxis 3D analysis; and

  • Log borings and perform observation during construction projects.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;

  • Professional Engineer license;

  • A minimum of 5 years of related Geotechnical experience; NY/NJ experience is strongly desired;

  • A minimum of 3 years of field experience with geotechnical investigations and construction observation experience including: mass grading, deep foundations, subgrade for footings, ground improvement, and excavation support including tieback installation and testing;

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multi-tasking, and judgment capabilities;

  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;

  • Possession of a strong technical education, practical field experience, professional demeanor, and desire to learn;

  • Position requires work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends; and

  • Possess reliable transportation to access job sites or attend client meetings and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
