Langan is seeking a Senior Project Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in our Philadelphia, PA office. This individual will serve a key function in providing developing new clients for the firm, as well as designing land development engineering projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with other development team members in designing commercial, residential, industrial, higher-education, healthcare and other exciting land development projects both locally, nationally and internationally. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  •       Leads the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects;
  •       Performs and manages multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Monitors budgets, schedules, and project timelines; 
  • Leads the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and designs for projects;
  • Responsible for making appropriate interpretations of findings and confirming data collections are completed correctly, timely, and on budget;
  • Interacts extensively and builds strong relationships with client, contractor or subcontractor representatives;
  • Supervises, reviews and approves the work of project staff; and
  •       Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree a plus;
  • Possess valid PA Professional Engineer licensure;
  • 10+ years’ experience in related site/civil land development engineering;
  • Proven leadership and ability to function as a seller / doer;
  • Knowledge of local City, County and State land use entitlement processes and regulations;
  • Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of land development engineering including the integration of geotechnical and environmental engineering;
  • Ability to design and oversee design including layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through design and permitting, and to completion;
  • Expertise in hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design including SWPPP/WQMP preparation and water quality compliance;
  • Able to develop business and forge relationships with others in the industry;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple clients, develop budgets and manage projects;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities; and
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, mentor staff engineers and interact with other discipline experts.
