Bartram’s Mile Wins ULI Philadelphia Award for Excellence

Langan’s Spencer Finch with representatives from the City of Philadelphia.

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) Philadelphia recognized Bartram’s Mile at its 4th Annual Willard G. Rouse III Awards for Excellence held this month. The awards program honors the legacy of the late business and civic leader Bill Rouse, recognizing projects for their vision and transformative qualities.

Langan helped the City of Philadelphia transform Bartram’s Mile, the one-mile stretch of vacant river frontage along the western banks of the tidal Schuylkill, through the extension of the Schuylkill River Trail, with the creation of new parks and an innovative neighborhood stormwater management system. Langan was responsible for the conceptual design of the stormwater system; permitting; geotechnical investigation; and final design of all elements of the project, including trail design, traffic engineering, and complete streets design.
