Langan officially announced Richard T. Anderson, President Emeritus of the New York Building Congress, has been retained as a Senior Advisor. Anderson, a nationally recognized executive and urban planner, will provide strategic counseling to the firm with respect to major real estate and infrastructure initiatives in and around New York City.

“In my role at the New York Building Congress, I have come to greatly respect Langan, not only for its technically excellent engineering and environmental work, but for the firm’s dedication to the ongoing redevelopment of New York,” said Anderson. “Nothing in New York gets done by one person or company. The leaders of Langan know this and I look forward to helping Langan forge even more alliances with developers, investors, architects, and construction managers that continue to re-shape our city.”

An advocate of strategic infrastructure investment and economic development, Anderson has dedicated his career to promoting the long-term growth of America’s foremost urban centers, primarily New York City. Over the past 23 years, Anderson ushered in a period of unprecedented influence and growth for the New York Building Congress, a public policy organization in its 95th year of promoting the design, construction and real estate community.

“We are honored to have Dick Anderson on board at Langan as a Senior Advisor,” said David T. Gockel, President/CEO of Langan. “His knowledge of planning, development, and construction in New York is unequaled. We are confident that Dick’s experience and diplomacy will bring direct and measurable benefit to Langan projects and clients.”

Langan’s New York office has experienced tremendous growth over the last decade, now totaling 225 people. Moreover, the combination of Langan’s headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey, coupled with a growing White Plains office, brings the firm’s metro-area resources to nearly 600 professionals.

Langan provides integrated engineering services on marquee New York projects such as Hudson Yards and Barclay’s Center and has become a reliable and responsive teaming partner to virtually all design and construction companies in the region. In addition to being a trusted consultant to the local development industry, Langan services support many projects for a wide variety of city and state agencies, as well as the utilities sector.
