The Langan Remediation Summit “Managing Risk at Legacy Sites – Insights for Success” was presented on September 28-30 at the Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, New Jersey. High-level remediation decision makers attended, including corporate remediation managers, developers, environmental researchers and scientists, environmental attorneys, and risk management specialists. Attendees participated in interactive discussions and heard from industry experts on topics and case studies focusing on risk management and innovative approaches for environmental remediation and property transfer. Representatives from Langan and executives from global corporations, oil and gas companies, and brownfield redevelopers provided their insights and perspectives during valuable keynote presentations.

The emerging contaminants session at the Langan Remediation Summit addressed a topic that has recently been highly profiled in national news stories. Impacts to potable well fields with these chemical compounds, given their mobility and extremely low regulatory screening levels, are challenging all stakeholders. The Summit presentation included three technical sessions, which provided a comprehensive and up-to-date review of emerging contaminants and insights as to how their associated challenges can be addressed.
