Southwest Park Wins USGBC NJ Award

The US Green Building Council New Jersey Chapter (USGBC NJ) will recognize Southwest Park with an award for innovation and sustainability best practices at their Annual Awards Gala, held on May 16. Langan provided site/civil, environmental, geotechnical, natural resources, and landscape architecture services for the project.

Located in Hoboken, Southwest Park is New Jersey’s first resiliency park with integrated green infrastructure to mitigate flooding. The Langan team designed a system to hold the equivalent of a 10-year storm volume through green stormwater infrastructure components, including bioswales and rain gardens to mitigate existing flooding within this area of the city.

The USGBC NJ Annual Awards recognize companies and individuals that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and best practices in green building and sustainability.
