Book Tower
OVERVIEW
Originally built as an office building in 1926, the 475-foot, 38-story Book Tower is one of Detroit’s oldest and tallest skyscrapers. The landmark structure underwent an adaptive reuse to add 500,000 SF of mixed-use space for residential, hospitality, retail, and office uses. Langan conducted interior and exterior building scans, including the facades, roof, walls, windows, door openings, columns, floors, ceilings, and structural components, and combined that information into a comprehensive BIM Revit model of the building. We also reviewed building drawings and inspected basement walls to identify the renovation’s potential impacts on the building.
