Kapor Center Seismic Upgrade

The Kapor Center is a 3-story Chicago-style curbed building with a basement. Built in the 1920s, the building had been vacant for over a decade when the Kapor Center, a technology and social impact nonprofit, selected it for its headquarters. Now completed, the LEED Gold-certified building offers a ground-level restaurant and shared meeting space, a rooftop reception area with a modern-style dome, a 100-seat auditorium, and conference rooms. Langan performed geotechnical engineering analysis and provided recommendations for the proposed seismic strengthening scheme. Our team also completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for the property
