UC Berkeley – Cal Aquatics Center

OVERVIEW
Langan performed geotechnical and environmental investigations for the Cal Aquatics Center. Existing facilities were demolished to construct an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a dive tower, springboard platforms, and buildings for locker rooms, mechanical space, and storage. The University internal technical review panel approved all aspects of the geotechnical design. In our environmental investigation, we detected no contamination in the soil. Our results indicated that excavated soil could be disposed as an unrestrictive waste instead of at a regulated landfill.
