Evergreen Charter School

Langan supported the development of Evergreen Charter School in Hempstead, NY—one of the first mass timber charter schools on the East Coast. The 5-story, 85,000 SF building serves 700 K–8 students and includes classrooms, flexible learning spaces, a rooftop cafeteria, gym, soccer field, and gardens. We provided site/civil services for layout, grading, drainage, utilities, ROW improvements, and permitting. Our team also delivered topographic, boundary, and utility surveys; a Phase I ESA; traffic consultation for garage capacity and circulation; and geotechnical services including subsurface exploration and design of a support of excavation system for a 15-foot-deep foundation.
