Hayward Library & Community Learning Center

Langan performed a geotechnical investigation for the City of Hayward Library & Community Learning Center, a 3-story, at-grade structure. The site measures 31,500 SF. We evaluated the site's subsurface conditions and provided conclusions and recommendations for the geotechnical aspects of the project design. During design, we consulted with the project team and reviewed the geotechnical aspects of the project documents. Since construction began in early 2016, our services have included observing over-excavation of undocumented fill beneath the foundation level, checking completed footing excavations, testing compaction of utility trench backfill, and checking building pad subgrade preparation.
