New Milford Riverfront

Langan provided landscape architecture, civil engineering, and traffic services for the revitalization of a 32-acre riverfront park system in the Town of New Milford. Historically separated from the Downtown Village Center by a steep bluff, active rail lines, and municipal infrastructure, Young’s Field Park lacked safe and intuitive connections to surrounding open spaces and the Housatonic River. The master plan establishes organized parking, enhanced pedestrian and bicycle connectivity, new recreational amenities, and flood-resilient design strategies, aligning with zoning, wetlands, and transportation requirements while reconnecting downtown to the riverfront.
