Philly Team Turns 20!
Langan Supports Diversity of Clients in a City with History and a Future
Philadelphia is flying high these days. The Eagles are Super Bowl champs, and the Villanova Wildcats are building a basketball dynasty. And next month there is another cause for applause – the local Langan team will celebrate its second decade in the city of brotherly love.
And love is the right word to describe how employees feel about a city that continues transforming into a highly desirable place to live, work, and play. But Philly’s resurgence is not just emotional. Consider these facts: in 2015, Philadelphia was named the first World Heritage City in the United States, providing new opportunities for economic growth, international relationships, historic preservation, and tourism; since 2005, Philadelphia’s millennial population has increased by 41%, which leads the nation; and in 2017 alone, $6.1 billion in development projects were completed or are under construction, with an additional $2.9 billion in early proposal stages.
As a result, Langan has been engaged in a variety of exciting projects: the PennFIRST Patient Pavilion for the University of Pennsylvania Health System; the 28- and 32-story River Walk towers on the Schuylkill River; Fashion District Philadelphia, a three-block redevelopment of the defunct Gallery Mall; Bridesburg Riverfront Park, along the Delaware and north of Center City; Perry World House, the University of Pennsylvania’s new home for global studies; Temple University’s Student Training and Recreation (STAR) Complex ; and the new Subaru headquarters in Camden, NJ.
To accommodate business growth, the firm recently moved its office in town to 1818 Market, which features an open, contemporary work space with near 360 degree views of the city.
“Our employees deserve to be in a state-of-the-art working environment, which helps them meet the demands of the many challenging projects we handle here in the greater Philadelphia region,” said Christopher Hager, Senior Principal. “On this, our 20th anniversary, we want to thank our clients and industry allies for allowing us to support their great projects and to be partners with them as we all continue to transform Philly into a world-class destination.”
