The Story Behind Langan’s California Success Story
A couple of big things happened for Langan this month in California.
October saw the opening of an office in Los Angeles, where the firm has multiple major projects underway. Also, David Gockel, President/CEO received the Distinguished Alumni Award at the University of California at Berkeley. The two events are related and show marked progress with respect to Langan’s westward expansion.
In 2010, Langan made a bold entrance into California by expanding into the Bay Area. As a result, the firm provides integrated site/civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering from four locations: San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and Sacramento. By the way, these offices are stocked with many UC Berkeley alumni, some in leadership positions.
Meanwhile at that time, a fifth office was taking hold in Irvine, thanks in large part to Diane Fiorelli, Senior Associate, another East Coaster who attended UC Berkeley. And since opening in Orange County, the firm set an objective to plant a flag in LA to solidify its SoCal coverage.
“Growing up I was always fascinated by California, which is what led me to Berkeley,” said Gockel. “I am humbled to have received such an award, but it really is not about me. Rather it was earned by the many Langan California professionals who commit themselves to providing the best engineering and environmental services to our clients on the West Coast and beyond.”
