Langan helps strengthen American infrastructure, energy independence, and healthcare through major projects stemming from federal programs
The definition of infrastructure is evolving, and that’s a good thing. Through recent legislation including the Infrastructure Investment, Inflation Reduction, and CHIPS Acts, the federal government is funding massive improvements to not only roads, bridges, and tunnels but also airports, manufacturing, renewables, power grid resilience, healthcare, and critical government facilities.
Expansions at major airports are taking off across the country, with many making significant operational and real estate updates because of the Infrastructure Investment Act. Many of these projects start with our experts addressing environmental concerns and permitting. From JFK to Nashville to DFW, Langan is playing an important role in terminal upgrades, roadway improvements, and other modernization initiatives.
Additionally, the Inflation Reduction Act has allocated almost $370 billion toward energy security and climate change initiatives. Langan’s renewable energy and grid resilience team is actively supporting various developments, including solar, biomass, battery energy storage and the onshoring of offshore wind.
Langan’s federal work has expanded with agencies such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, Environmental Protection Agency, and US Department of Agriculture and, most recently, National Institutes of Health (NIH). Through its contributions to projects like the Surgery, Radiology, and Lab Medicine Building, as well as the National Institute on Aging’s Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementias Temporary Research Facility, Langan has helped to advance NIH’s goal of improving health outcomes for all Americans.
“We’re fortunate to collaborate with many of the nation’s top design and construction firms on a range of infrastructure projects across the country,” said Ryan C. Linthicum, PE, Managing Principal. “Langan seamlessly combines our expertise in the private sector with our experience working on federal and state projects to meet the rapidly changing infrastructure needs and exceed client expectations.”
