Wicked Strategy
Langan Builds Winning Team in Boston
John Plante’s roots in Boston date back to the 1990s when he was a staff engineer on the Big Dig. Today, he has led Langan’s successful entry into the highly competitive Boston market by hiring established local talent as leaders, which in turn prompted rising stars from around the firm to join the office.
“For some time we often heard from our clients and design team partners that having another consultant in town, especially one that offered site/civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering would be welcomed,” said Plante, Managing Principal. “But we knew we needed the right mix of established Boston-based experts to substantiate our strategy, and we found that leadership in Doug Landry and Frank Holmes.”
After years with other New England firms, Landry and Holmes, both Associates, have thrived in Langan’s entrepreneurial culture, which has resulted in strong business and staff growth. From e-Commerce to mixed-use to institutional clients, the Boston practice runs the real estate gamut.
Such success inspired a number of staff to re-locate to Langan’s Boston office, which quickly jumped from a Regus space to 888 Boylston Street in the heart of Back Bay. Clearly Plante, who previously grew Langan’s New Haven, Connecticut office, grooming its current leaders in the process, has put the right players in place to make the Langan brand “Boston Strong” for many years to come.
