Andrew Ciancia is a senior consultant with more than 45 years of experience. He was Chairman of the Board at Langan from January 2015 to December 2020 and a former Managing Principal for Langan’s New York City office. Throughout his tenure at Langan, he has managed some of the company’s most challenging projects in the New York Metropolitan area and across the country.
Since 1980, Ciancia has worked as a consultant for the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and private developers. Through this role, he provides geotechnical recommendations in relation to limiting damage to historic structures as a result of adjacent new construction and remedial measurements to the historic structures.
Additionally, he is a licensed Professional Engineer in nine states, Chair of the ACEC National Engineering Excellence Awards Committee, and member of The Moles. Ciancia also served on the New York City Mayor’s Office Building Resiliency Task Force in response to Superstorm Sandy and to the Department of Buildings on updating the 1968 and 2008 Building Code.
