Associate Principal

Clay Patterson is Langan’s geotechnical practice leader for the Chicago region, bringing more than 20 years of experience working on a wide array of challenging projects. Throughout his career at Langan, Patterson has spent time shaping Langan practices in multiple states—from New York to Connecticut and now Illinois. He specializes in geotechnical explorations and reporting, deep foundation design, ground improvement and earthwork designs, support of excavation and underpinning design, slope-stability, seepage and resiliency-related projects, retaining wall design, and instrumentation and monitoring during construction. His project experience includes a specific focus on complicated urban construction, industrial and logistics developments, K-12 and higher education, and general mixed-use and commercial projects.
