Based in Langan’s New York City office, Michele O’Connor manages the office’s site/civil engineering group providing clients with land development engineering services throughout the New York metropolitan area. Her areas of expertise include commercial, institutional, park/recreation and mixed-use developments.
O’Connor is actively engaged in the professional and engineering community serving as a board member of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation; Corresponding Secretary of the Women Builders Council; past president and board member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) New York; and Vice Chair of Rutgers School of Engineering Industry Advisory Board.
O’Connor is a longtime champion for the empowerment of women in the engineering industry. In 2015, she co-founded Women@Langan and serves as both a corporate and local office leader. She was named one of Retail’s Top Women by Real Estate Forum Magazine in 2016, recognizing women who show leadership and mentorship in her profession and work to increase recognition and opportunities for other women in the industry. In 2018, the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation honored O’Connor with the Pillar Award, and also received CREW New York’s Founders’ Award. Additionally, the Women Builders Council honored Ms. O’Connor with the Trailblazer Award in 2021.
