Managing Principal

Steven Ueland is a remediation engineer, with over 35 years of diverse experience in contaminated property characterization, engineering design, and permitting and construction management for complex remediation projects. He has specific expertise with large chemical and petroleum manufacturing sites, and the remediation of both Light and Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (NAPL). Ueland is an active member and national instructor for the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) LNAPL Team, and was a contributing author and instructor for the NJDEP LNAPL Technical Guidance Stakeholder Group. He has designed and overseen the remediation and closure of numerous complex sites, involving a host of in-situ and ex-situ treatment technologies, multi-phase recovery systems and innovative capping and containment approaches.

Ueland is the firm’s practice leader for several diverse areas of expertise, including multi-media environmental compliance, human health and ecological risk assessment, and contaminated sediment remediation. He has also developed and oversees the firm’s GIS and data management team, providing integrated data mobility, graphics and visualization solutions across multiple disciplines.
