ACECNJ Honors Langan Personnel and Projects at Engineering Excellence Awards
by: Sophie SommerACEC New Jersey named Andy Ciancia Educator of the Year and recognized three Langan projects with honor awards during its annual Engineering Excellence Awards banquet. The projects included:
- The Borden Complex
- Davis Center at the Harlem Meer
- JFK International Airport, Building 260
The Educator of the Year award honors individuals in the engineering education field who have positively impacted the profession and policy leadership throughout their career, either as a professor or administrator at an engineering school in New Jersey. Award recipients have elevated professional standards, inspired excitement among next-generation leaders, and significantly contributed to the engineering consulting industry.
Ciancia is a Senior Consultant at Langan with more than 50 years of experience. He directly impacts young engineers through his role as Senior University Lecturer at NJIT, where he teaches soil mechanics, foundation design, and capstone courses. He previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University and NYU. He is also Vice Chair of the National Academy of Construction’s Scholarship Committee, which provides over $60,000 annually to engineering students interested in construction.
The 2026 Engineering Excellence Awards winners were honored during the 55th annual banquet on Wednesday, March 11, at Forsgate Country Club.
