Art Alzamora Named New Principal of the Year by ACEC New York

ACEC New York recognized Langan Principal Art Alzamora, PE, F.ASCE, LEED AP, Assoc. DBIA, as the New Principal of the Year during the organization’s annual meeting on June 1.

This award honors a leader in a member firm who has held the position of principal for less than five years and has made significant contributions to the consulting engineering community. Nominees are judged on firm leadership, contributions to professional organizations, technical and professional achievements, and philanthropic efforts.

Alzamora joined Langan in 2003 and was named Principal in 2021. He manages a team of 30 geotechnical engineers working on complex projects in the healthcare, higher education, and commercial market sectors throughout New York City. His expertise includes the design and construction of foundations and excavation support systems. Alzamora leads by example, collaborating with his team to develop innovative, time-saving solutions that incorporate unique designs and increase efficiency. His notable projects include One Vanderbilt, St. Patrick’s Cathedral renovation, Dock 72 at Brooklyn Navy Yard, and Barclays Center.
