Art Alzamora Accepts Position as Chair of ACEC New York Executive Committee
by: Nicole VeenstraArt Alzamora, Langan Principal, officially accepted the position of Chair for the 2023-2024 ACEC New York Executive Committee. As Chair, he will oversee the nine-person executive committee and 22 directors representing the various regions of the New York chapter.
Alzamora is a geotechnical engineer whose expertise covers subsurface investigations and testing, design of excavation support, foundation design, secant wall design, rock excavation, construction monitoring and inspection, pile load testing, and more. He has led some of the most notable projects in New York City, including One Vanderbilt, Disney’s NYC headquarters at 4 Hudson Square, Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island, St. Patrick’s Cathedral renovation, and Barclays Center.
He also plays an active role in multiple facets of ACEC New York, serving as Chair of the Scholarship Committee and a member of the Engineering Excellence, MTA, and Nominating Committees.
Founded in 1921, ACEC New York is a leading professional organization representing nearly 300 firms engaged in engineering for the built environment. Its mission is to promote the interests of member firms through networking, advocacy, education, and business services.
