Dave Gockel Honored with 2022 Impact Award by NAIOP NJ
by: Nicole VeenstraNAIOP New Jersey recognized Langan President & CEO David T. Gockel, PE, PP, LEED AP, ASCE Fellow, with the 2022 Impact Award. This award is given to an individual and/or firm who has had a significant impact on New Jersey’s commercial and industrial real estate development industry. Award recipients were honored during the 35th Annual Commercial Real Estate Awards Gala at The Palace at Somerset Park on Thursday, June 16.
When Gockel became Langan’s President & CEO in 2005, the firm was already a leading environmental and engineering consulting firm with 250 employees across seven offices. Yet what has transpired since has been nothing short of remarkable. Under Gockel’s leadership, Langan embarked on a journey of unprecedented growth that continues today, with more than 1,500 employees spread across 37 offices in the U.S. and abroad.
While Langan’s business has grown consistently with Gockel at the helm, so has the firm’s commitment to community. Langan sets an annual internal goal of donating between $500,000 and $1 million to local charities around the country, while consistently providing in-person volunteer hours.
Additionally, Gockel is a strong proponent of sustainability. With his guidance, Langan achieved carbon-neutral status in 2018, won the Acterra Award for Sustainability in 2019, and has committed to a 100% sustainable vehicle fleet by 2030. Langan is also committed to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry, and proudly supports eight Employee Resource Groups.
