George Leventis Elected to the National Academy of Engineering

The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) recently elected George Leventis to its Class of 2026, one of the highest professional distinctions for an engineer. Leventis was chosen by his peers as one of the 130 members and 28 international members elected this year, bringing the total number of U.S. members to 2,534 and international members to 356.
NAE members comprise the world’s most accomplished engineers in business, academia, and government. The election honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the engineering profession, as well as those who have pioneered new and developing technology, made major advancements in traditional engineering fields, and implemented innovative approaches to engineering education.
Leventis is a Managing Principal at Langan and Managing Director of Langan International. With over 40 years of professional experience, Leventis has led multidisciplinary teams on large-scale residential, commercial, industrial, and supertall projects worldwide. Some of his highest-profile projects include Hudson Yards in New York City, Jeddah Tower in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and EKPPT Motorway and Rion-Antirion Bridge in Greece.
Founded in 1964, the NAE is an independent nonprofit institution that provides engineering leadership and objective advice to the U.S. government as part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
