Katy Gagnon Honored with PWC CT Excellence in Mentoring Award

The Professional Women in Construction (PWC) Connecticut Chapter recognized Katy Gagnon, PE, LEED AP with the 2023 Excellence in Mentoring Award. This annual award honors one individual who is a positive role model in the AEC industry, has sustained a career commitment to mentoring, and has had a positive effect on their mentees.

Gagnon is a Senior Project Engineer and leader of the site/civil engineering team in Langan’s New Haven office. With over 18 years of experience, Gagnon has worked on a variety of complex land development projects throughout Connecticut, spanning the K-12, higher education, residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors.

In addition to her project-related work, Gagnon serves as an office leader for the Women@Langan employee resource group and a mentor for Langan’s internal mentoring program. In these roles, she fosters an atmosphere of empowerment and guidance for younger staff at the firm. She also dedicates her time to the ACE Mentoring Program, which introduces high school students to opportunities in architecture, engineering, and construction. Since joining the New Haven Chapter in 2005, she has taken on the role of mentor, Chair of the New Haven Chapter Advisory Board, and currently serves on the State Advisory Board, which develops programming at a state level.

PWC is a national nonprofit that works to support, advance, and connect women and promote diversity within the AEC industry. The Connecticut Chapter brings together industry professionals from Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, providing members with opportunities for education, networking, and business development.
