Matthew Meyer Honored with ASCE Martin S. Kapp Foundation Engineering Award

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Geo-Institute honored Matthew Meyer, PE, D.GE, Langan Principal, with the 2023 Martin S. Kapp Foundation Engineering Award for his outstanding contributions to engineering through his work on deep foundations and retaining structures. This prestigious award is given to one person each year in recognition of their achievements related to the design or construction of foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, or underground construction.

As a co-leader of Langan’s Miami office, Meyer has spent his career developing innovative approaches to deep foundations for large-scale projects located within complicated geologic conditions. These projects include high-rise buildings, urban developments, stadiums, hotels, resorts, casinos, universities, healthcare buildings, ports, bridges, tunnels, airports, and expert witness services for various geotechnical-related matters. Throughout his 25-year career, Meyer has provided geotechnical expertise on projects in nearly 20 states and 12 countries.

The Geo-Institute is one of ASCE’s nine specialty institutes, serving over 13,000 geotechnical professionals as they work to improve the built environment and construct sound and reliable engineered facilities and structures.
