Three Langan Projects Awarded by ULI New York

ULI New York recognized three Langan projects with 2022 Awards for Excellence in Development:

• Battery Maritime Building – Casa Cipriani, New York, NY: Excellence in Repositioning or Redevelopment
• Pier 17, New York, NY: Excellence in Mixed-Use Development
• Third At Bankside, Bronx, NY: Excellence in Market-Rate Housing Development

This awards program honors outstanding development projects across New York State that best exemplify ULI’s commitment to shape the future of the built environment and have a transformative impact on communities worldwide.

Casa Cipriani is a private club and hotel at the Battery Maritime Building, a New York City architectural landmark. Langan provided site/civil engineering for the adaptive reuse of the historic building, which now includes 47 hotel suites, event spaces, and a members club.

For Pier 17, Langan provided site/civil, environmental, geotechnical, marine, and survey services to help rebuild the pier after it was damaged by Superstorm Sandy and construct a mixed-use building atop it. The 300,000 SF building features a green roof for events, unobstructed views of the Brooklyn Bridge, and a resilient four-story façade.

Langan provided geotechnical engineering services for Third at Bankside, a 458-unit mixed-income residential building overlooking the Harlem River. As the first phase of a 4.3-acre development, this project supports investment in the future of the Bronx and provides the community access to the waterfront for the first time in over a century.
