Dave Gockel Named NJBIZ 2021 ICON Award Winner

NJBIZ named Langan President and CEO David T. Gockel, PE, PP, LEED AP a winner of the 2021 ICON Awards. This award program recognizes New Jersey business leaders for their notable success and demonstration of strong leadership both within and outside of their chosen field. The winners will be celebrated during NJBIZ’s virtual awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 22.

From the beginning of his career Gockel has welcomed tough assignments, starting with his first project: the complex redevelopment of the Jersey City waterfront. Since then he has served as principal-in-charge of MetLife Stadium, American Dream Meadowlands, Prudential Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park, and overseas Department of Defense Dependent Schools. Since becoming President & CEO of Langan in 2004, Gockel has grown the firm fivefold in size from 250 employees to over 1,300, and from seven offices to nearly 40. He has also boldly led the firm during hardships such as the “Great Recession” and COVID-19 pandemic, made strategic moves to expand the firm into new market sectors and locations, and oversaw two acquisitions.
