11th and Venango Playground

Located in the Hunting Park neighborhood of Philadelphia, this site formerly housed the Richardson L. Wright public school. The school was demolished in the 1980s and the asphalt lot has since served as an informal recreation space for the community. Langan was hired to develop a PPR-designed concept plan into workable construction documents. Since the site is being significantly de-paved, our team leveraged disconnection of impervious surfaces to reduce the required stormwater infiltration system footprint and cost. Our site/civil and landscape architecture teams collaborated on drainage and utility design to reduce costs and honor the concept design.
