1629 Market Street

OVERVIEW
1629 Market Street is a mixed-use development consisting of three nine-story residential buildings with both market-rate and affordable housing apartments. The project also includes demolishing the Local 38 Plumber’s Union Hall and constructing a new four-story Union Hall with a single-level basement. Langan conducted soil structure interaction analyses to evaluate potential impacts on the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit tunnels running beneath the site and the San Francisco Municipal Railway located 30 feet north of the property line. We also performed geotechnical investigations to evaluate subsurface conditions, provided Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, prepared Site Mitigation Plans and Dust Monitoring Plans for San Francisco Department of Public Health, and observed the removal of hazardous soil during construction.
