Langan is providing multi-discipline engineering services during the renovation of an eight-story, 464,000-SF commercial building located on Manhattan’s “Automobile Row.” The project includes a two-story addition and complete renovation of the existing space, which currently houses Jaguar Land Rover, Infiniti, and Nissan dealerships. Once complete, the building will include over-sized windows, open-concept floorplans, 24-foot ceilings, and a 12,000-SF communal roof deck. Langan’s scope of work includes hazmat services, a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, subsurface investigation, and support of excavation design for the new elevator pit and Con Edison transformer vaults. Langan also obtained permits from various public agencies, including New York City (NYC) Department of Parks and Recreation for street tree plantings; NYC Department of Environmental Protection for sewer connections; NYC Department of Transportation for the Con Edison vaults; and NYC Department of Buildings for sidewalk reconstruction.
