Langan provided multi-discipline engineering services for the renovation of a historic eight-story, 464,000-SF building located on Manhattan’s “Automobile Row.” The project includes a two-story addition and complete renovation of the existing space, which currently houses Jaguar Land Rover, Infiniti, and Nissan dealerships. The building features over-sized windows, open-concept floorplans, 24-foot ceilings, and a 12,000-SF communal roof deck. Langan’s scope of work included hazmat services, a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, subsurface investigation, and support of excavation design for the new elevator pit and Con Edison transformer vaults. Langan also obtained permits from various public agencies, including New York City (NYC) Department of Parks and Recreation for street tree plantings; NYC Department of Environmental Protection for sewer connections; NYC Department of Transportation for the Con Edison vaults; and NYC Department of Buildings for sidewalk reconstruction.
