Verizon – Air Permitting Exemptions

Langan was retained by Verizon to investigate regulatory permitting requirements for all of their emergency generators located within Pennsylvania. After discussions with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) and Verizon management, it was agreed that Requests for Determination (RFD) for exemption from operating permits and plan approvals would be submitted for over 350 generators. Langan provided a key role for coordination and negotiation with Philadelphia Air Management Services, Allegheny County Health Department, and the six regional offices of the PADEP to secure permit exemptions and/or clarification of requirements.
