Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium Landing Repairs
OVERVIEW
The Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium was constructed in 1934 and originally housed the Department of Labor. The building houses numerous prominent sculptures and serves as one of the premier event spaces in Washington, DC. Langan provided site/civil engineering and surveying services to restore the landing of this historic structure that had settled, allowing water to penetrate the substrate and enter the building. This design-build effort included the removal and re-leveling of the landing at the stairs located at the Constitution Avenue entrance.
