Children’s Day School Preschool

The 8,500 SF, single-story Children’s Day School preschool includes classrooms and administration space and a 1,300 SF stormwater infiltration area with permeable surfaces, greenery, and improvements to the schoolyard. Langan conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Characterization to evaluate the soil quality and soil vapor, identifying the presence of hazardous lead concentrations and leading the project to enter the Article 22A Site Assessment and Mitigation program with the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH). We prepared a Site Mitigation Plan, a Dust Monitoring Plan, and conducted soil management observations and dust monitoring during construction. Upon completion, we prepared the Article 22A Closure Report and Cap Maintenance Plan and assisted in entering a Land Use Covenant with SFDPH for residual contamination.
