Crown View Rock Slide

Langan was called onto this site immediately after a massive rock slide occurred in February 1992.  The condominium site is located within the limits of an old rock quarry and is surrounded by near vertical rock cliffs up to 100 feet high.  A major two lane roadway runs along the crest of the rock cliff and its stability was a serious concern. Langan performed extensive mapping of the rock face and evaluated stability in areas of concern.  Stabilization measures and a monitoring program were developed to address the stabilization concerns.  Langan prepared contract drawings and technical specifications and also provided engineering inspection during construction.
